FEDERAL HOMES & HEAR (Home Electrification & Appliances Rebate) PROGRAMS

Nevada has received $90 million toward these two new federal programs. NREA Members are partnering with the Nevada Governor’s Office of Energy on administering. This is still being finalized. Please check back to learn more as this program is announced.

LOW-INCOME PAYMENT ASSISTANCE

• NREA utility members provide assistance with direct donations toward energy costs, or, provide funds to local service organizations, agencies, and churches to support their home energy assistance programs… some, without regard for energy source. (wood, oil, propane, electricity)

LOW-INCOME WEATHERIZATION PROGRAMS

• The most established and far-reaching low-income assistance program NREA utility members subscribe to is a long-standing partnership with the Rural Nevada Development Corporation (RNDC) to fund weatherization for low-income consumers.

• Partnership with RNDC not only leverages available funds, it connects low-income consumers with prescreened, qualified, reputable contractors to ensure the installation of effective energy efficiency measures.

• Weatherization provides financial relief for low-income families every day by reducing their total energy consumption and therefore reduces their monthly energy expenses.
